Sunday Meals

Right before Christmas Jon mentioned something about how his family always had a home-cooked family meal on Sundays after church, and maybe we should get in the habit of doing that.  My Italian family always had spaghetti on Sundays after church without fail.  So, in an effort to start a tradition, we have done this the last couple Sundays.  For Christmas my parents got us a dutch oven, so our first meal was a Pot Roast.

Jon actually made this all by himself.  He found a rub recipe on-line, and cut up potatoes and carrots.  It turned out very good - next time we'll probably use a different cut of meat (more tender) but the meal was yummy.

The next Sunday I made the meal, and we had a chicken Alfredo casserole.

Tri-colored pasta, chicken, peas, Italian bread crumbs and low(er)-fat Alfredo sauce.  Another good meal.

So, this weekend we have to think of a new meal to try.  Any suggestions??

  1. ha ha, this is so weird, because Mike & I just had the opposite conversation--that we were instigating Sunday Spaghetti Dinners! LOL.
